Mrs. Marie Grazia Stanfield

MRS. MARIE GRAZIA STANFIELD, age 71, of Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

            Surviving is Her, husband, David E. Stanfield.

            Graveside service was held Friday, November 23rd, in Summerville Cemetery, with Rev. Sean Wegener officiating.

SMITH

MR. ANTHONY (TONY) SMITH, SR., age 72, of McGraw Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, in Rome, Georgia, surrounded by his loving Family.  Born on December 24, 1945 in Newnan, Georgia, He was a son, of 14 children, of the late of Bird Berry and Ollie Mae Landers Smith.  Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan, Georgia, and was a manager/salesman holding numerous positions in this area.  He was preceded in death by his wife the late Margaret “Peggy” Smith in October, 2013.

            Surviving are sons, Anthony Joseph (Joe) Smith, Jr. of Birmingham, AL. and Benjamin Smith of Trion; sister, Sandra Brown of Newnan; brothers, Jack Smith and Jett Smith both of Newnan; grandchildren, Leigha Cannon, Kathryn Smith, Megan Martin, Alexandria Palmer; great grandchildren, Branden, Noah, Elijah, Shawna, Briellah, Emerson, and Dylann; several special Nieces and Nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Randy Martin, Gordon Little, and Earl Parris officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Tim Fulmer, Earl Parris, Fred Lawson, Bill Hubbard, Jett Smith, Jr., John Agnew, Dan Little, and Gordon Little.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 3 P.M., at the Funeral Home.

Ms. Loretta James

MS. LORETTA JAMES, age 70, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in the local nursing home.  She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 26, 1948 to the late Lester G. and Mabel White James.  Ms. James was a member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church.

            Surviving are sister, Jeanette Abercrombie of LaFayette and brother, Charles James of Graysville; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Graveside service Friday, November 23rd, at 11:00 A.M. in Bryan Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Abercrombie officiating, Active Pallbearers will be Family members.

HARTLINE

MR. JIMMY LEE HARTLINE, age 47, of Marvin Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly, November 10, 2018, at his residence.   Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on March 19, 1971; he was a son of the late Howard Gene and Janice Hamilton Hartline.

            Surviving are wife, Natasha Ozment Hartline; daughter, Haylee Hartline; son, Timothy Lee Hartline; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Jay Ledford.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. William H. (Billy) Parker

MR. WILLIAM H. (BILLY) PARKER, age 88, of Dovers Cut Road, Lyerly, Georgia, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018, in a Rome hospital.   A native of Chattooga County, he was born to the late DeForest and Clara Sprayberry Parker on August 30, 1930.  Mr. Parker was retired from Inland Container, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Berea Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Maidell Hemphill Parker on April 12, 1982 and siblings, Irene Miller, Martha Mae Barrett, Henrietta Byars, and George D. Parker.

            Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Janet & David Kline, Amy Jo Parker, and Jennifer Marie & Andy Ussery; grandchildren, Gavin and Kara Ussery; daughter-at-heart, Elaine Webb; sister-in-law, Elaine Holden; several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Roger Jones and Berlen Murphy officiating, interment in Summervile Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Shanklin/Attaway Post #5 Rome Georgia. Active Pallbearers, Parker Barrett, Joe Reed, Larry Weesner, Vergil Tudor, Andrew Campbell, and Ralph Sentell; Honorary Pallbearers, members of Berea Church of Christ, Roxie Weesner, Jamie Weesner, the following “Trade Day Friends”, Donnie and Lynn Arrington, Ricky Howell, Johnny Reynolds, Jessie Bankston, Dempsey Lawson, Sonny Reynolds, Wes Love, Tony Johnson, and Earle Rainwater.  The family will receive friends Friday, November 16th, at the funeral home from 6 until 8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Red Clay Horse Rescue, P. O. Box 1012, Lyerly, Georgia, 30730.
