MRS. FRANCES PONDER, age 82, of Hammond Drive-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, morning. She was a member of South Summerville Baptist Church, born in Trion, Georgia on June 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Mae Bohannon Gilmer, who died while Mrs. Ponder was a young child and was reared by her grandmother the late Maebelle Gilmer. Surviving are husband-Henderson F. Ponder; two Daughters and sons-in-law- Claudette and Jerry Mahan of Summerville and Jenette and Coleman Slay, Jr. of Armuchee; Five Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. David Craven officiating, interment in the Family Plot of Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mahan, Terry Mahan, Rainer Slay, Robert Floyd, Emory Gilmer, Randall Ledford, and Eric White. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. At other hours the Family will be at the residence of a daughter Jenette & Coleman Slay, Jr. #562 Floyd Springs Road-Armuchee. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
