MRS. RUBY B. SALLEY, age 99, of Nixon Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, in the local nursing home. A native of Walker County, Georgia, She was born to the late Lee and Lemmie Hood Baker on July 11, 1914. Mrs. Salley received her BS Degree from West Georgia College and Master Degree from Berry College; during and after Mrs. Salley taught school in the Chattooga School system for many years, She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota and the Horizon Baptist Fellowship. Mrs. Salley also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, the Chattooga County Garden Club, was an Emeritus Judge of the National Garden Club, member of the Chattooga County Garden Club, and member of the Chattooga County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by husband, John Salley in 1992 and daughter, Mary Salley in 1998, sisters-Dorothy Beatrice Baker Cawthon in 2008 and Ellen Louise Baker in 1937. Memorial service will be held Friday, August 2nd, at 3:00 P.M. from the Horizon Baptist Fellowship with Dr. Jerry Mahan officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Church. Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Salley.
