Master Richard Arlen Humphrey, III

MASTER RICHARD ARLEN HUMPHREY, III, infant son of Candee Janel Colbert and Richard Arlen Humphrey, Jr., passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, in a Rome hospital.

            Surviving beside the Parents are Sisters, Emilee Colbert and Dalanna England; Paternal Grandparents, Richard Arlen Humphrey, Sr. and Teresa Burke Humphrey; Maternal Grandparents, Michael Parnell Colbert and Debbie Sue Colbert; Aunt and Uncle, Amy and Jeremy Pursley; several Cousins also survive.

            Graveside was held Wednesday, November 9th, at 11:00 A.M. from Dogwood Memorial Gardens with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating.

Mrs. Georgia Wardlaw

WARDLAW. . . . .

            MRS. GEORGIA WARDLAW, age 98, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016, in a Rome health care center.  She was born in Summerville, Georgia on November 29, 1917 to the late Milton and Myrtis Chapman Hix.  Mrs. Wardlaw was a member of West Rome Baptist Church, retired from Sears Catalog Department, and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, the late Roland L. Wardlaw, a daughter , the late Georgiana Wardlaw, and nine Brothers and Sisters.

            Surviving are 3 sons, David (Linda) Wardlaw of Cedartown, Miles (Carole) Wardlaw of Bowden, and Guy Wardlaw of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Betty Elrod of Trion; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.

            Funeral services were held Sunday, November 13th, at 3:00 P.M.  from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Oates and Mr. David Wardlaw officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers Ross Wardlaw. Jay Wardlaw, Justin Wardlaw, Hank Wardlaw, Andrew Wardlaw, and J. T. Williams.

Mr. Richard Echols III

MR. RICHARD ECHOLS III, age 65, of Perennial Springs Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at his residence following a sudden attack.  Born on July 2, 1951 He was a son of the late Charles R. Echols, Jr. and Ella Edwards Echols.  Mr. Echols attended the Perennial Springs Baptist Church and was retired hyster driver for Mohawk Industries.

            Surviving are His wife, to whom he was married 46 years, Gail Booker Echols; son, Bryan Echols both of Summerville; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

            Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Circle B. Farms, on Fish Hatchery Road, Summerville with Rev. Waydell Howell officiating.  In Lieu of flowers the Family ask for contributions for funeral expenses.

Mr. Richie "Shaggy" Bryant

MR. RICHIE “SHAGGY” BRYANT, age 62, of Ellenburg Subdivison, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness.  Born in LaFayette, Georgia He was a son of the late Jean Willis Bryant Giles.  Mr. Bryant was retired from the wash line of Mohawk Industries and was preceded in death by an aunt the late Doris Harding.

            Surviving is His brother, James A. Giles of Summerville.

            A Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Biddle officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Kirk, Billy Stewart, Dexter Laws, all Friends, Hearth Hospice, and Dr. Wayne Richie and Staff of Redmond Family Care Center at Trion.

Mrs. Margaret McClain Fulton

MRS. MARGARET McCLAIN FULTON, age 89, of Third Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away, Monday afternoon in a Rome hospital.  She was born in Floyd County, Georgia on January 8, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Herbert A. and Sarah Irvine McClain.  Mrs. Fulton was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Fulton on July 3, 1996, to whom she was married to for 50 years. 
Mrs. Fulton graduated from Gore High School in 1944 and was valedictorian of her class.  She was a member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church and was retired from the former Farmers & Merchants Bank (presently BB&T Bank).  She was an active member of the community.  She served as secretary/treasurer of the Summerville Cemetery Corporation and treasurer of the Chattooga County Historical Society for many years.   She was a member of several organizations and loved to play cards on Thursdays.    
            Mrs. Fulton is survived by her two sons, Greg Fulton of Summerville and Robert Fulton of Spring Hope, North Carolina, her daughter, Ruth Cordle of Pike Road, Alabama, her sister, Eugenia Smith of Americus, Georgia, several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews also survive.
            Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21st, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, with Dr. Ed Judy officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Allan Fulton, Jonathan Fulton, Christopher Cordle, Steve Smith, Keith Register, and Daniel Cook; Honorary Pallbearers will be the Triangle Sunday School Class of Summerville First United Methodist Church.  The Family will receive friends Friday, October 21st, from 12 noon until the funeral hour, at the Funeral Home.
